St. Paul's has a long history of supporting music in service to God and the community. Choral and congregational singing led by the organ are central to our worship services, and you'll hear guitar, harpsichord and other instruments as well. While Sunday mornings are the focus of our music making, the choir also sings Evensong several times each year. The beautiful visual and acoustic environment of the church is ideal for making music, and St. Paul's presents concerts, free and open to all, throughout the year. Our Music Director and Organist, Todd Michael Borgerding, holds degrees in musicology from the University of Minnesota (MA) and the University of Michigan (PhD). He has led groups such as the Madison (WI) Chamber Choir, The Academy of Ancient Music (Ann Arbor), and Early Music Ensembles at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Colby College. As a viola da gambist, he has performed with the Madison Viol Consort, and, more recently, the Maine-based groups Music’s Quill, and St. Mary’s Schola. In addition to his duties at St. Paul's, he is a professor of music theory and history and Chair of the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Rhode Island College, where he performs with the Hope Collective for Early Music.
