Sacraments

St. Paul’s Church is a home for people at all stages of their faith journey. To schedule any of these ceremonial rites or learn more about the sacraments, contact the Parish Administrator at 401-294-4357.

• Baptism: Baptism is an initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the church. God establishes an indissoluble bond with each person in baptism. God adopts us, making us members of the church and inheritors of the Kingdom of God. Baptisms are scheduled for people of all ages at various times throughout the year.
  
  
• Holy First Communion: St. Paul’s offers First Holy Communion classes for children who are in grades 1-4. Classes are held on Sundays after church leading up to the First Holy Communion service, usually held on the last Sunday of the month in September.
  
  
• Confirmation: The sacramental rite in which the candidates "express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop." This is available for all who have been baptized and for those who have been baptized in the Christian faith and are being received from another religion. Confirmation classes are scheduled for eight evenings during the summer months.

• Marriage: The sacramental rite of the church in which two persons enter into a lifelong union, make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows.
  
  
• Funerals and Memorials: Please reach out to the Parish Administrator to schedule a time to speak with the Rector about making funeral or memorial arrangements for a loved one.
