St Paul's Nursery School

News
October 2009

On September 14th &15th St. Paul’s Nursery School welcomed 68 preschoolers and their parents for the 2009-2010 school year. This year we have a total of 8 classes with 6 classes on Mondays through Thursdays and 4 classes on Fridays. The halls are filled with the sounds of children singing, playing and learning. Everyone has settled in and is busy getting to know each other.

Our entire staff has returned this year and is as follows:

Besides our preschool programs, there are several before and after school programs that we are offering this year. There is something for everyone.

* Early Arrival Child Care option for 3’s & 4’s – drop off @ 8:30 AM.

* 1 Hour Lunch / Social Development 4’s Program; 11:30 – 12:30 (M.T.W.TH.).

* 2.5 Hour Lunch / Extended Day 4’s Program with lesson; 11:30 – 2:00 (M. T.W.TH.).

Also with the opening of the new school year we have some new improvements to the building and property. Besides the newly tiled classroom floor and locks on the downstairs fire doors, we now have platforms outside the windows of the classrooms that have fire ladders. This area was cleared of overgrowth, by a mysterious group of workers from the church, and now our children will be able to exit the building through the windows for our obstructed fire drills. Thank you whoever you are. Our playground was cleared of weeds and raked by a group of industrious parents and is clean for our children for outside playtime. Thank you Bill and Joy Brew, Steve Sironen, and Demi Samson for all your hard work. All of these improvements make our building and grounds more attractive and safe. Our next project is to replace the rusted chain on our swing set with galvanized chain. We are having a bowling night on October 5th for St. Paul’s Nursery School at the local bowling alley to raise the needed money for this project. Thanks again to Joy Brew, one or our parents, who will be heading this effort.

We are off to a good start! Hopefully 2009-10 will be a good year for all. There are still a few openings in our programs. We can add 4 or 5 more 3 year olds and 1 or 2 more 4 year olds to our classes. Call the school @ 295-7320 to set up a visit.

God Bless, Linda
