On September 8 St. Paul’s Nursery School opened its doors for the new school year and welcomed 57 preschoolers and their parents. This year for our four year olds, we have two 5-day morning classes and one 4-day afternoon class. For our three year olds we have two 3-day classes and one 2-day class. Everyone has settled in and is busy getting to know each other.

Besides our preschool programs, we are offering several new programs this year. There is something for everyone:
Early Arrival Child Care option for 3’s & 4’s – drop off 8:30 am
1 Hour Lunch/Social Development 4’s 11:30-12:30 (MTWTh.)
2 Hour Lunch & Enrichment w/ Crafts 4’s 11:30-1:30 (T & Th)
Also with the opening of the school year, we have some improvements to the building and property. Many thanks for making the Parish House grounds and building more attractive and safe – go to:
Eagle Scout Andrew Palmer for taking on the project of constructing three comfortable and very sturdy benches for our playground. Our Nursery School and Sunday School parents now have a nice place to sit while they watch their children play before and after school. It also provides both a visual and safety barrier to the parking lot.
Fr. Phil, the Vestry, Ted Seymour and especially Elaine Casey Lemieux, Properties Chair, for overseeing all the improvements at the Parish House including: Yellow striping in the parking lot with safety area for walking, energy efficient light fixtures with sensors and electrical upgrades to the building. new boiler and oil tanks that will save energy, renovations to the downstairs bathroom including the addition of two toilets and two sinks, replacement of several failed windows, which greatly improved the visibility and appearance of the building.
Bill Healey for providing a gate in the ramp as an egress from the window and newly installed fire ladders in the classrooms. With the addition of these fire ladders funded by the School, we finally are in full compliance with the fire regulations which
we needed for our licensing from the state.
We are off to a good start! Hopefully 2008-09 will be a good year for all. There are still a few openings in our programs. Call the School (295-7320) to set up a visit. God Bless.
