Three Year Old Class News: During the month of April we talked about the color blue and the oval shape. We learned about birds and how they make their nests. We talked about April showers and made rain sticks and delicious “puddle cake” which we enjoyed eating at snack time. We also began raising our caterpillars and watching them change. We hope they will turn into butterflies soon. After our Spring break, we had a visit from the Audubon Society with “The Very Hungry Caterpillar Program”. It was great! We finished the month with a unit on the ocean. Parent/teacher conferences took place at the end of April to discuss the growth that has taken place this year.

Four Year Old Class News: “April Fools Day” was called “Backwards Day” for the 4 year olds. The children wore their clothes backwards to school, and the parents were invited to an “April Fools” coffee and treats surprise upstairs. During April we also started our insect unit and learned about the life cycle of the caterpillar. After the Spring break, we celebrated Earth Day and participated in an Earth Day clean-up of our school grounds. We discussed ways we can help our environment. We ended the month with parent/teacher conferences and made preparations for our May Day Brunch.

We would like to again thank all of our families for their patience and understanding throughout this past season, for any inconveniences they may have experienced with the new boiler issues and the road construction on Main Street.
