Three Year Old Class News: During November the children were working with the color brown and the triangle shape. Our themes revolved around the five senses, our homes and families, Pilgrims, Native Americans and Thanksgiving. Some of the activities were: painting turkey footprints, making chocolate pudding, feather painting, making Indian headbands and Pilgrim hats, hand turkeys, brown squirrel collages, and food collages. The children shared the many things they were thankful for and invited their families to join us for our Thanksgiving Program on November 25.

Four Year Old Class News: The month began with a field trip to John Leyden’s Christmas Tree Farm in West Greenwich and parent–teacher conferences on Election Day. The following week we began our Thanksgiving and Native American Indian units. We learned about the first Thanksgiving celebration and talked about how we celebrate the holiday today with our families. We made and decorated Native American headbands, vests, necklaces and “honor sticks”. We ended the unit with a special Thanksgiving Program and our Basket Raffle Drawing in which our families were invited to attend. Winners of the raffle will be listed in next month’s Communicant. During Chapel Time in November, as we do every month, we talked about what we are thankful for. The children come up with some pretty amazing responses.

We are continuing to take names for next year’s enrollment. We have begun giving tours of the school. We have spaces available for the 3’s and 4’s for next September. Enrollment is now open to the community. Please call the school (295-7320) for more information or to visit the school.
