April 2010
Three Year Old News: For the month of March the color of course was green and the shapes were oval and shamrock. We talked about the Signs of Spring, windy weather and began our planting unit with the planting of our “grass heads”. We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with stories about St. Patrick and a party with leprechaun pudding that we made and other green treats. We had some nice, sunny, warm days and we took advantage of the milder weather by going out into our playground for extended play time.
Four Year Old News: March came in like a lion but we experienced many lamb days during the month as well. We continued our weather unit and observed and recorded the weather each day. The fours also began our Healthy Bodies unit and learned about how to take care of our bodies, nutrition and dental health. We performed an “eggs”-periment and observed what happens to teeth that are not cared for and how brushing keeps our teeth clean and healthy. We learned about St. Patrick’s Day, began our Signs of Spring unit and learned more about our senses through a variety of activities.
On Thursday, March 11, we had Pajama Day. Our fours wore their pajamas to school and we learned how sleep keeps us healthy. We ended the month with Wacky Wednesday on March 31. This was a fun day when the children use their observation skills to find things that are not what they should be. We dressed wacky and enjoyed a wacky snack.
We invite you to come visit our school and see what we are all about.
God Bless, Linda
