From the Director of Liturgy and Music

Mark Steinbach, DMA
Organist and Choirmaster

Thank you to the talented youth who contributed to the worship service on Youth Sunday. Participating musicians were Elijah Mather, organist, Ellie Gettman, soprano, Miriam Scheff, violin, and Sophie Brown, violin. Thank you, Rozanne Fuller, for leading the Youth Choir and Nancy Sherman for directing the Children's Choir throughout the year!

We had a great time performing our concert at the St. Elizabeth center in May, followed by our annual ice cream party. It is exciting to see how much joy these talented kids can bring others when they work together like this!

Thank you, Father Phil, for leading us in a beautiful Evensong service May 18 in The Old Narragansett Church. The Parish Choir sang exquisite settings of the Magnificat and Nunc dimmittis by the Lübeck composer Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707). Thank you, Pat Petersen and Morgan Santos, for providing lovely string accompaniment. And thanks to our pledging parishioners, who make it all possible.

Pentecost was early this year, but the Parish Choir will be singing at services on Sundays throughout June. If you would like to help lead service music and hymns during the summer services in the Old Narragansett Church in July and August, simply come upstairs and join us for the 9 am service. We hope to see you there! As always, if you would like to volunteer your musical gifts in any way at St. Paul's, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Peace,
Mark
