From the Director of Liturgy and Music
Mark Steinbach, DMA
Organist and Choirmaster
May was a busy month for choirs! The Youth and Children’s Choirs closed off the choral year with our annual concert at St. Elizabeth home, followed by ice cream party at Hilltop. Thanks to all parents who support their children in this important ministry! Also KUDOS to Rozanne Fuller for donating her time and talents as director of the Children’s Choir.
The Parish Choir will be singing Evensong at the Old Narragansett Church Sunday, June 3 at 7 pm, followed by a reception hosted by St. Paul’s Hospitality Team. The Choir will sing works of Gibbons, Pinkham and Michael Haydn. Father Alan will be officiating his last official liturgical duty at St. Paul’s. We will miss you, Alan!
The following Sunday, June 10, the Parish Choir will travel (this IS Rhode Island, after all!) to Providence to sing Evensong at the Cathedral of St. John at 4 pm. Please join us!
Special music will also accompany our service on June 24. A period fife and drum will assist in taking us back 300 years, as we celebrate at the Platform and the ONC (particulars in “Join the Parade” elsewhere in this issue).
Please join us for worship this summer in the Old Church Sundays at 9 am. There will be a variety of special music each week.
Blessings,Mark
