Organist and Choirmaster

A blessed Easter to all!

Please join us for Holy Week Services! The Brown University Brass Quintet along with Mr. Jesse-Ray Leich on the timpani will be joining us for the Easter Vigil and morning Liturgies Easter Day at St. Paul's. Musicians of Updyke's Rose will join St. Paul's Youth and Children's Choirs for the 9:30 Easter Service at The Old Narragansett Church. Choirs will be singing for the Maundy Thursday service and the Good Friday Service at 2:00pm. And don't forget: Easter lasts 50 days! I'm reminded of the song I learned as a child: "Every morning is Easter morning from now on." Somedays are easier to see it that way than others, but one can sing it in any case to lift the cloud.

St. Paul's was treated to a recital of Bach, Mendelssohn, and numerous Italian composers on March 21st, the 325th birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach. Kudos to our guest artist Mario Duella from Portula, Italy! This was his second concert at St. Paul's. Many thanks to Elisa Roe for coordinating the splendid reception following Senor Duella's recital.

Everyone is invited to attend the Diocesan Youth Evensong at St. Martin’s Church in Providence Sunday April 25 at 5:00pm. Our youth have been practicing for this event all year, and they sound super! The Royal School of Music summer camp is being held in RI this year the first week of August. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn some great music and meet new friends! Please see meor Rozanne Fuller if you are interested in signing up. St. Paul's Youth Choir and Children's Choir will join forces for our annual concert at St. Elizabeth Home in May. Please contact Nancy Sherman or Alicia Cranston to have your child join the Children's Choir (grades 1-3).

Finally, thank you to all of the choral volunteers of St. Paul’s and their families! Thank you for sharing your time and energies, and fine tuning your talents! Also a big thank you to the parish for your support of the music ministries at St. Paul’s! Without you, our joyful songs would be diminished. May the song ring in your heart: "Every morning is Easter morning from now on."

Peace,
Mark
