From the Director of Liturgy and Music
Mark Steinbach, DMA
Organist and Choirmaster
If you’ve ever considered joining choir, now would be a great time, as we are starting to work on our Holy Week and Easter repertoire. The Parish Choir will also be singing Evensong at the Cathedral in Providence in June. Stay tuned!
The Children’s and Youth Choirs are preparing music for the statewide Evensong to be held at St. Paul’s in April. We are also learning great music for Lent, Holy Week and Easter. You may contact me at the church (294-4357, ext. 106) or contact Rozanne Fuller to become a part of this team of ministry!
If the weekly demands and challenges of the Parish Choir are not for you (and trust me, there are challenges!), don’t forget the “Choir at 8” which is always looking for new members. No audition is necessary; just show up Sunday at 8 am, and we will learn some vocal techniques and lead the service music together.
Kudos to everyone who made the Epiphany Evensong such a beautiful service! Thank you, Rozanne Fulller, for playing your ’cello, each Parish Choir member for faithfully rendering your vocal part, and the Hospitality Team, who provided such delightful goodies! It was definitely the warmest January Evensong on record for this century! Thank you also, Altar Guild, for providing the luminaries to guide us into the church! If you missed this great St. Paul’s tradition, we hope to see you next year.
Peace to all,
Mark
