“O sing on, dance on, ye followers of Emmanuel.
Sing on, dance on, ye followers of the Lamb!”
Shaker text from New Lebanon, New York
To celebrate this season of Advent, the Children’s, Youth and Parish Choirs are offering A FESTIVAL OF WORD AND MUSIC FOR ADVENT, Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 pm. Traditional readings, and musical meditations, some traditional and some not-so-traditional (!), will fill the night air. String players and a liturgical dancer will also render musical and visual offerings. We will gather a free-will offering to benefit disaster victims. St. Paul’s hospitality crew will host a glorious reception in the Parish Hall following the service. Plan now to take part in this wonderful annual event!
Kudos to Pat Petersen, our string artist in residence, for leading the string quartet for the Mozart Missa Brevis on All Saints’ Day.
The choirs are diligently rehearsing for Christmas and Epiphany events, as well. Many thanks to all choir participants who have given of their time and efforts, developing their talents to the glory of God! Also thank you to choir parents, guardians and spouses who have faithfully shared in the commitment to the worship life of St. Paul’s.
Peace,Mark
