About Nightwatch

The Middle School Youth Group's bus trip to New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine the first weekend in February was a success. We left St. Paul's on Saturday afternoon toting sleeping bags, pillows and lots of snacks to get us through the night and the next morning until our return trip on Sunday.

With groups from as far away as Virginia, we participated in mixer activities during the early evening. All together, we then ventured up to the Cathedral proper. It was as if we had traveled back in time and place to medieval Europe. The evening was made all the more special by participating in the prayer of the Labyrinth accompanied by dance and music. After some Cathedral exploration and a late night snack, we celebrated a midnight service with Rev. Jennifer officiating over a congregation of 107 youth and chaperones. "Lights Out" was 1:30am.

Making the trip even more enjoyable were the camaraderie and friendship apparent on the bus, around the breakfast table and even while we patiently waited to be picked up on Sunday morning.

Thanks to one and all for all the planning, fundraising and participating in such a special trip.
