Now is the time to join a choir for participation in Holy Week 2005! Find out what all the buzz about "the Mozart effect" is: join the Parish Choir to sing Mozart's great Trinity Mass in C with chamber orchestra for Easter Day. The Children's and Youth Choirs are busy learning singing techniques and rehearsing their Easter tunes for the 8:30 service in the Old Narragansett Church. The Youth Choir will also join the Parish Choir with music of Durufle and Bruckner for the Maundy Thursday service. Members of the Parish Choir will chant the ancient plainsong version of the Passion of John, Good Friday at 1 pm. The "Exultet" will be chanted in darkness at the beautiful candlelit Easter Vigil, and great hymns of the Resurrection will be sung. The Brown University Brass Quintet will enhance our worship at 8:30 and 10:30 am liturgies Easter Day, as will other special musicians.
Thank you - faithful members of the "Choir at 8" for convincing us all that singing "high A's! at 8" is an even better way of waking up than a triple espresso! Thank you, Jesse-Ray, for your amazing African drumming, and Pat Petersen for your inspiring violin playing! Thanks in advance to Dean Cote for sharing his congo-drum talents with us on March 2 for the African-American spiritual.
Thank you - each and every choir member for giving heart, mind, soul and strength as we travel the Lenten road to Easter!
