About our Healing Ministry

The objective of the Healing Ministry is to promote the health of the whole person - body, mind and spirit. Jesus was a healer, teacher and prophet in his earthly ministry. The church is to continue the healing ministry. Healing of a broken world was an important part of Jesus’ ministry, and as his disciples we continue that ministry. It involves prayer for the sick, the grieving, the lonely and the hurting in our parish community and visiting them to provide a healing presence. The objective of this ministry is to provide the healing of the whole person, the body, mind and spirit. Our wholeness comes from a healthy functioning of these three areas in our lives. If one of these areas is hurting in our lives, then it affects our wholeness. We are the body of Christ, and each of us is a part of the whole. If one part of the body is hurting, then that will affect the whole body.

St. Paul’s Church started a healing ministry, and we need volunteers to form a team. You can be part of the prayer chain or help in other activities that are planned from time to time. The main qualification for the team is to be wounded healers. We are all wounded at some time or other in our lives, and if we are willing to listen to others’ woundedness, then we provide healing for them and wholeness for the church body. If you are interested to learn about this ministry and would like to volunteer, please provide your name and phone number to the parish office (294-4357) or call me. I hope to hear from you. ~ James Jacob
