Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany
Feb 17, 2019 + Sunday School Special event this week: to celebrate and illustrate "Jesus Heals", we will have a visit from the ambulance, rescue and firetruck!!! Bring friends! + Definitely visit Coffee Hour this week... Girl Scout cookies will be available for sale! + Youth Confirmation meets this Sunday, Feb 10 in the fireplace room of the Parish Hall. + The Sunday Morning Bible Study (8:30 in the Belden Room) is doing a study on Amos and Hosea. + New England Bible Study Spring is an in depth look at the New Testament. See you Tuesdays at 9:30 a, or Wednesdays at 7 p. The Gospel of Mark tonight 2/13 and, The Gospel of Matthew 2/19-20. + Parish Prayer Calendar is Pastoral Care. God Bless the Kind. From Inside the Collar
God gives great gifts. You have great gifts. God loves you. It makes sense that he calls you through the things that you love. When you "unwrap" your gifts and use them, they will fill you with enthusiasm. (Because, God loves you). And, the more you use your gifts; the more you feel loved, the more you love others and the more we are all drawn back to God in his love! "Enthusiasm" is made up of two Greek words: "en" and "theos". Enthusiasm literally means "in God".
Serving God doesn't make you miserable! Serving God is an enthusiastic joy that strengthens all of us. So "love God with all your heart and mind and soul and strength": Be God's Valentine, now and forever!

Dear Friends,
Winter definitely has its challenges. We know you have yours, so we doubly
appreciate your amazing donations for our truck run to the Providence
shelter. When our truck date coincides with snowfall, we go anyway!!! and
simply serve inside. Several years ago we drove up as a blizzard was
threatening a travel ban, and we felt confident that at worst we’d have a
police escort to the shelter! (Beat the travel ban by an hour.) Stay safe,
and know that your kindness is warming a number of folks at the Emmanuel
House.
