September was a great month. All our programs are up and running. If you have a child, age 3 through high school, and have not registered for classes yet, come on over to the Parish Hall on Sunday mornings. All are welcome, including friends. We have lots of fun activities planned for the upcoming months. Registration cards are available between services at the children’s snack table.
Thank you to all the teachers and parents who have volunteered this year. The classrooms were overflowing with helpers. What a great beginning. The enthusiasm for the new year was overwhelming in September, from the teachers and the students. It started with Parish Day and continued with the addition of our newest confirmation class. St. Paul’s is alive and vibrant. We welcome all our new families to the church and to our classes.
This year, in addition to our curriculum of lectionary-based stories and lessons, we will have a continuing focus for the year. Each month, we will have a special community service project to connect us with the world around us. The focus will be on helping those less fortunate in our community and in the world. Most of these projects will show the children that they, through their love and talents, can help those in need. October’s focus will be on Habitat for Humanity. The children will make decorations for the dinner that the church hosts. We explain the importance of Habitat for Humanity and show the students that through their creativity they bring beauty and love to the world.
Parents and grandparents are always welcome to visit or help out with our special projects. Come join in the fun; spiritually it will be very moving.
Remember, there will be no Sunday school on Columbus Day weekend. Enjoy worshiping together in church.
