Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

The start of another year of Sunday School is an exciting time at St. Paul’s. We’ve got some new teachers, new students, and new ideas. One hundred and ten students have already registered for class, and we’re always looking to add a few more faces to our community. If you haven’t already done so, come join us on Sunday mornings for a fun year of Church School.

Some frequently asked questions:

    When is Sunday School held?

  • Sunday School is held during the 8:30 service. Children attend the first part of the service with their families, and then are dismissed with the teachers (approx. 8:50 am) to attend their classroom instruction over in the Parish Hall.

  • My children have never been to Sunday school, what do I do to register them?

  • You may register your child any time before, during, and after the 8:30 am service. Registration cards are available in the Parish Hall. Just let us know that you registered, and we will place your child in the appropriate class.

  • Does it cost?

  • No. Although donations of snacks, craft items, time, and talents are always appreciated.

  • My child had a friend sleep over; may they attend class?

  • Sure. We love kids, the more the merrier.

  • We’ve missed a few weeks, do we need to re-register?

  • No, as long as your child is registered, they may return at any time during the year. Although we would love to see your child every week, we understand that illness, family functions, and vacations sometimes interrupt attendance.

  • What ages are the children in Sunday School?

  • Children ages 3 through 8th grade are welcome in Sunday School. Children ages 1-3 are welcome in Toddler Care. Confirmation class is available for Tenth Graders. Children over 5th grade are able to be readers, acolytes, toddler care and classroom helpers.

  • What about Eucharist for the children?

  • During the year, there are numerous Community Worship Sundays during which there is no Sunday School, and families may attend Church together. This allows the children to participate in the Sacrament of Communion with their families.

Again, welcome to all our new and returning students. We are looking forward to another fun and exciting year. Thanks to all the teachers, you are the backbone of this program. I appreciate all that you give to the youth of St. Paul’s. A special welcome to the twenty 10th graders who have registered for the confirmation class. This year, we are piloting a program that allows the class to meet more frequently, but only for their 10th grade year. This should allow a smoother, more fulfilling experience for the class. Congratulations to these youth on beginning their study towards a more mature relationship with God.

It’s an exciting time at St. Paul’s. Enjoy your classes.
