Good health, education, safety from harm, opportunities for their children, comfort in old age, support in a crisis, and basics like shelter and nutritious food.

What prevents people from traveling down roads to their dreams and reaching their goals is often lack of money for programs and services to support them on their journey. Unfortunately, the funding that organizations need to do their important work continues to diminish.

Episcopal Charities helps close the funding gap.

Episcopal Charities awards grants each year to approximately 105 organizations statewide. Through your annual gift, caring flows, the helpers and those who need help are connected, and thousands of Rhode Islanders will cross the bridge to a better life.

2008 Goal: $500,000

Giving to the Episcopal Charities Fund is the best way to help those in need:

• Every dollar donated is used to address the critical issues of our time. Fund raising costs are covered by a special endowment.
• We do the research – so you know your money is going to worthwhile causes and well run agencies.
• We follow up to ensure that grants are being used effectively and as intended.
• The majority of agencies supported are small; our grants have a significant impact on their ability to offer specific services and programs.
